HSC ADVANCED & EXTENSION 1 ENGLISH
Course Outline
We offer HSC English tutoring specialising in the following texts/modules:
Advanced
1. Discovery - “The Motorcycle Diaries.”
2. Module A - “Looking for Richard,” and “Richard III.”
3. Module B - “In the Skin of a Lion.”
4. Module C - W.H. Auden.
5. Creative Writing
Extension 1
1. After the Bomb - “The Spy Who Came In From The Cold,” “Good Night and Good Luck,” and “An Artist of the Floating World.”
2. Creative Writing
Each area of study comes with our own essays and a variety of other exemplary responses and resources. Each module comes with information to not only help students understand the text, but improve their exam technique.
Lesson Structure
Lessons will run once every two weeks for between 1-2 hours. Between these sessions, students will have free access to contact our tutors regarding any questions or for essay marking.
Class Composition
Classes will consist of 2-3 students to ensure a focussed amount of attention when evaluating the content of the text and/or learning exam techniques. During the fortnight break, students have the opportunity to develop their own independent ideas.
Fees
The price is $50 per hour. It should be noted that we may consider tutoring individuals, however we feel this is unnecessary given the importance of developing one’s own essay. Naturally, the price of this service would be greater.
